The IK (Impact Protection) protection rating is a standard, adopted internationally, used as a tool to evaluate and classify the degree of protection of enclosures for electrical equipment against external mechanical impacts. It is regulated by the CEI EN 62262 standard and is published by the International Electrotechnical Commission.
The degree of protection is indicated with the fixed term IK and a numerical group from 00 to 10. High numerical values indicate a high impact resistance.
